道德經 第一章 (中英)

道德經:第一章

道可道,非常道。名可名,非常名。

The Tao that can be spoken of is not the Tao itself.
The name that can be given is not the name itself.

無,名天地之始;
有,名萬物之母。
‘Wu’(non-exsistance) is given to be the name of the source of the universe.
‘Yo’(exsistance)is given to be the name of the the originator of all things.
故常無,欲以觀其妙;
常有,欲以觀其徼。

Therefore, oftentimes
rest my mind in the state of ‘Wu’ to observe the wonder of Tao. Oftentimes
rest my mind in the state of ‘Yo’ to observe its manifestations.

此兩者,同出而異名,同謂之玄。玄之又玄,眾妙之門。
Its wonder and its manifestations are one and the same. Since their emergence, they have been called by different names. Their identity is called the mystery. From mystery to further mystery,forming The entry of all wonders!
